Back it up!
"Back It Up!" is a project that seeks to promote the use of cloud storage and prevent the frustration and heartbreak of losing important work. Our team of four designers collaborated to create a logo that would effectively capture the concept behind the brand. With over 120 logo concepts to choose from, we experimented with various media, including letrasert, photography, and paper, to arrive at a final design that embodied our vision.
Overview
The concept of Back It Up! is simple yet powerful: reminders. We all need a gentle nudge from time to time to remember to back up our work, and that's where Back It Up! comes in. The visual identity of the brand was inspired by stickers and sticky notes - simple yet effective reminders that can be placed on our computers, notebooks, and workspaces.
Concept
Through this project, I was able to hone my skills in visual identity design and explore the creative possibilities of branding. I enjoyed working with the simple yet impactful colour palette, as well as experimenting with different typography and iconography options to create a cohesive brand identity.
The process of creating the Back It Up! brand was an iterative one, involving collaboration and experimentation. Our team worked together to explore a variety of ideas and approaches, resulting in a wealth of logo concepts to choose from. We experimented with different mediums to refine our ideas and ensure that the final design effectively communicated the brand's message. Through this process, we arrived at a final logo design that was simple, memorable, and effective.
Process
I believe that good design can have a positive impact on people's lives, and I am proud to have contributed to a project that has the potential to make a real difference. I hope that the Back It Up! brand will inspire people to take the important step of backing up their work to the cloud, and that it will be a helpful reminder.
